Microscopes for Asbestos Analysis

The ML6100 Series PLM (Polarized Light Microscope) is utilized for the qualitative identification of asbestos fiber and the semi-quantitative determination of asbestos in bulk samples. Meiji manufactures these microscopes pursuant to NIOSH 9002 reference methods.

FEATURES:

• Polarizing microscope, binocular head with DIN standard eyepiece HWF10X and DIN focusing HWF10XF eyepiece with cross-line reticle
• Centerable quadruple nosepiece with SM Plan DIN strain-free brightfield POL objectives 10X, 20X and 40X(S) and 10X central stop (dispersion staining objective)
• Rotatable stage with graduation 360º, with vernier
• Coaxial coarse and fine adjustment with graduation
• Rotatable polarizer in swing-out mount, analyzer and Bertrand lens in sliding mount
• Built-in Koehler illuminator with 6v 30w halogen lamp and variable intensity control
• 4X, 10X and 40X(S) SM Plan strain free objectives are supplied as standard
• Compensator Plate: First order red plate, 550nm
• Blue daylight filter
• Available with trinocular, binocular or monocular viewing heads
• Optional objectives and other accessories are available

The ML6500 Series PCM (Phase Contrast Microscope) is utilized for asbestos fiber counting applications. Meiji manufactures these microscopes pursuant to NIOSH 7400 and OSHA ID 160 reference methods.

FEATURES:

• Transmitted light binocular microscope with DIN standard eyepiece HWF12.5X and HWF12.5X focusing eyepiece with Walton & Beckett reticle (Type G-22 with 3:1 aspect ratio)
• Quadruple nosepiece with SM Plan DIN brightfield objectives 10X and BF S. Plan achromat positive phase contrast objective 40X(S)
• Mechanical X-Y stage with attached finger assembly
• Coaxial coarse and fine adjustment with graduation, reading 2 microns per division with tension adjustment and auto safety focus stop
• Achromatic condenser NA 1.25 with iris, filter tray and 40X positive phase annulus in sliding mount
• Built-in Koehler illuminator with 6v 30w halogen lamp and variable intensity control
• GIF (green interference filter) 546nm
• Centering telescope
• Stage micrometer - 1mm divided into 100 units (each division = 0.01mm)
• Available with trinocular, binocular or monocular viewing heads
