ML8000 Series
Metallurgical Microscopes
The ML8000 Series Metallurgical Microscope is a high capability
metallurgical microscope engineered for trouble-free operation under conditions of long,
hard use. Similar in design to the ML7000 Series but with the added capability and
versatility of transmitted brightfield illumination.
FEATURES:
- Viewing Head:
- The ML8000 Series Metallurgical Microscopes is equipped with either an erect image
binocular or regular trinocular viewing head inclined at 30° and rotatable through 360°
for comfortable viewing. Each eyetube is provided with a graduated diopter adjustment.
Interpupillary distance is adjustable between 52mm and 72mm.
- Eyepieces:
- Paired KHW10X super wide 20mm field of view eyepieces.
- Objective changer:
- Smooth operating quintuple ball-bearing nosepiece.
- Objectives:
- Infinity corrected, S. Planachromat M4X/0.10, M10X/0.25, M20X/0.40, M40X/0.65.
- Illuminators:
- - Vertical illuminator with 6V 30W halogen light source. Full Köhler design for
brightfield and polarization technique, including infinity tube lens with blue clear,
green clear, ND8 neutral density and polarizing filters supplied in mounts. Electronic
transformer with intensity control is supplied in a separate case.
- - Transmitted Köhler illuminator with 6V 30W halogen lamp. Electronic transformer and
intensity control is built in the microscope base.
- Stage:
- Large scan 4" X 4" ball-bearing mechanical stage with 94.5mm diameter clear
glass stage plate and drop-down X/Y axis controls.
- Focusing Movement:
- Coaxial low position coarse and fine focus controls graduated to 2 micron per division
are fitted with tension adjustment and safety autostop. The focusing range is 35mm. The
movement runs in extra wide precision ball-bearing steel tracks.
- Accessory eyepieces, objectives, micrometers, filters and
other options are available.
